GOOD AFTERNOON FRIENDS and FAMILY FROM OUR HOME, AND IN GUATEMALA!

I GREET YOUR ONCE MORE FROM THE CLINICA MAXEÑA!

I hope this finds all well and content for all our family and friends. It is Monday so the Clinica is
busy with patients.  Our Doctor Jorge Castro sees up to 15 patients in the morning, and  others wait until after lunch for consult.  Our Chemical Laboratory is always a busy service. We have received many important Chemical Lab Machines and Reagents. We are also fortunate, with generous donations, from our Diocese Donors, to have an EKG Machine, and Ultrasound and printer.

There is a  lot more poverty, unemployment, and hunger in our area.  In our Clinic, we decreased percentages of several workers, so not to cut our budget of Medicines and Charity to patients in 2018..

One of our infant Patients, just left the Operating Room, in the Roosevelt Hospital, in Guatemala City.  Sindy Ajqui Tzoc is 11 months old.  Her first admittance to the Hospital was in …

"Wendy Carolina", A MIRACLE CHILD

Image
Wendy comes from a mountain village, several kilometers from the Clinica Maxeña.  She comes to NUTRITION SUPPORT GROUP MONTHLY.  All the children who have passed consult with our DOCTOR, and found to be malnourished and under weight are given Formula, according to their need.  They do not pay for the Formula or consult with the doctor.  They also receive their medicine without cost at the CLINICA MAXEÑA. Some of the fathers do come to the MISSION to cut grass and chop wood once a month, to help with expense of formula and Medical Care..
WENDY is a Special Child. She was born prematurely, at 6 months pregnancy, in the nearby National Hospital. She weighed ONE POUND EIGHT OUNCES AT BIRTH.  She spent 5 weeks in an  incubator , when her DAD said, "I WANT MY DAUGHTER HOME."  The Doctor from the Government Health Center, ALDEA GUINEALES, 8km into the  Mountains, came with another Doctor, to ask for our Help!  They were aware of our Nutrition Program and that the Clinica Maxeña p…

"A VERY SPECIAL CHILD AND FRIEND"

I have known Karla and her family since she first became ill, three years ago.  She is very small           for her age.  She will be  16 years old this month. She lives with her family, parents and siblings         in a small village about 30 minutes from here.  She is studying here in Santo Tomas, but has had
to take time off again, for treatment of her illness.  Please remember her in PRAYER! Her
condition is very serious! THANK YOU!!

The Clinica Maxeña has been in existence since 1966.  Over the years, we have made very good           contacts with Specialists in Guatemala City and other Hospitals.  There are Specialists from the           Unites States who have offered their expertise as VOLUNTEERS.  The Clinica Maxeña
welcomes Opthalmologist TEAMS from California and Montana, twice a year, for more than              twenty years.  They perform consult and su…

Friends and FAMILY,

I HAVE DECIDED TO SHARE ONCE AGAIN BY THIS BLOG!  I have lived most of my life in Guatemala, Central America as a MISSIONARY!  I have learned a great deal from friends, patients and the POOR.  I wish to share with YOU!  I continue to work as a MISSIONARY of the CATHOLIC CHURCH in the the FIELD OF HEALTH CARE TO THE POOR.  Our MISSION is supported by the Diocese of Helena, Montana

Much has changed over the years.  I am at presently the only MISSIONARY from the DIOCESE of Helena, Montana. My companion is my DOG; COCO, a cocker spaniel, and many other furry companions.  I work with Guatemalan, MAYAN Priests in our Parish Church, and with Mayan Health Workers in the Clinica Maxeña.  Our Diocese also supports a Junior, Senior high School, LA ASUNCIÓN!  I hope you will continue to support our work with the POOR!

STAY TUNED, AS I SHARE LIFE OF THESE BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE, THEIR NEEDS, THEIR JOYS, AND THEIR CULTURE.

BLESSINGS FROM GUATEMALA!
